There are many ways to raise your “enough already” meter and Mian raised all of them. In the stunning conclusion of the Stolen Duet, Mian pushed my pulse rate past the “cardio burn” stage. The stakes are higher. The action is deadlier as Angel become locked into a battle to remain the knight.
Senator Staten continues to ensure Mian’s silence by plotting her death. Angel tries to keep a firm hold while confronting his past and future as The Knight. He continues to take drastic measures to protect Mian and her son Caylen.
Every measure leads to a push and pull with Mian. She basks in the glory of their passion however she refuses to be a prisoner and continues to plot her escape at every opportunity. Therefore, my angst meter went ballistic. No matter what happens in bed, she continues to make plans to run the next day. She was always plotting to run for the duration of the book. I wanted to grab her by the arms, shake her and make her understand she needs to stop running. If anything, she needs to fight along Angel’s side. Everything she loves about her father is everything she hates about him.
This was not an easy read for me. You will need a road map to keep up with who killed who, what, where and why. It’s complicated with too many elements and angst. Mian stood in her own way. Angel has forsaken his legacy to keep her alive. As he turns a blind eye to all her whims of defiance, he comes face to face with his enemies trying to grab and seize control away from him.
With bodies buried, blood spilled and secrets revealed he must choose a side. Is he going to secure his seat as the head of the family or will he try to have it all? It’s a story of duplicity, treachery, honor, conquest and triumph. In The Knight, you either win, lose or die trying.

B.B., ALSO KNOWN as Bebe, found her passion for romance when she read her first romance novel by Susan Johnson at a young age. She would sneak into her mother’s closet for books and even sometimes the attic. It soon became a hobby, and later an addiction, influencing her life in a positive way.
Bebe is fresh out of undergrad college and has always wondered about the existence of her talent. When she finally decided to pick up a metaphorical pen and start writing, she found a new way to embrace her passion.
She favors a romance that isn’t always easy on the eyes or heart, and loves to see characters grow–characters who are seemingly doomed from the start but find love anyway.
Fear Me, her debut novel, is the first of many.
