The Mistress book review | Tiffany Reisz

Have you ever read a book that made you cry tears of pain, joy, and excitement all at once? I understand Nora’s life is in peril, but this is a classic case of if life gives you lemons – make lemonade. And The Mistress is the best lemonade I had this year.

The Mistress was the bitch slap that left me all bruised and beaten up. For the past month, this book was with me. I flew to Philadelphia; I had The Mistress with me. I went to the doctor’s office; I had The Mistress with me. I went to the beauty parlor; I had The Mistress. All I wanted was one person, just one person to ask me that fated question: “Whatcha reading?” so I can finally put into the universe my first thought – GURL THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING!!!!

Nora becomes Scheherazade: What’s this you may ask?
“Scheherazade is the young bride of the Sultan. After one of his wives cheats on him, he decides to take a new wife every day and have her executed the next morning. But it all stops with Scheherazade. She marries the Sultan to save all future young women from this fate. She tells the Sultan fascinating stories, leaving him in such suspense each night that he can’t execute her the next morning for fear of not hearing the end of the story. After 1,001 of these well-told tales, the Sultan changes his mind”

Nora has been kidnapped by a mad woman. While everyone is anxious to save her, everyone realizes what that would include – Save the Mistress, Kill the Kidnapper. The hard part is not the act itself but who. If Nora can manage to stay alive until help arrives, she pulls out all her weapons. If she keeps telling her stories of Soren and Kingsley to keep her capturer hanging in bewilderment; she can survive this ordeal.
I have been reading and enjoying this series all summer. And even though the fall has made an appearance, I am still in awe of the best series every erotica reader needs to read. I could have read this story in a day or two. I choose not to. I choose to breathe life into the characters who were quickly becoming a part of my life. It was like I could send a text to Nora and tell her “Hang In There Gurl, Help Is on Its Way.”

Discover the epic tale of Nora, where everyone is willing to put their lives on hold to save her. From Grace and Wes to Soren, Kingsley, and Laila, each character is ready to fight to defend her. Follow Nora’s journey as she reveals every piece of the puzzle in her “Tales of Mistress Nora,” told to her capturer. With “The Reisz Experience,” this series becomes a true masterpiece du jour, where bedtime stories take on a whole new meaning. All roads lead to Nora – are you ready to join her journey?

I have never been so engrossed in a series like this. I was crying tears of pain, joy, excitement, and some arousal. Yes, that too. But the beauty of the story is not the sexy parts. It’s the devotion and humor each character brings to the story. It tore my heart apart and put it back together again. And the ending was the only path it could take.
I was quickly planning when to read the next installment on my calendar. However, after reading the last page, I will be starting The Saint right after I post this review. Reisz showed her true genius on that final page.

Forbidden love. Challenging relationships. Lust. Long-simmering resentment. Orgasms. It has it all. I know Nora is in a dire situation. However, I must admit anyone who manages to spend time in her universe should consider themselves one lucky bitch.

Marie-Laure, Kingsley’s sister, is a woman you will love to hate. She sits on her throne of vengeance and hate and demands you to kiss her ring. If it were not for her being a crazy ass woman, she would be Bitch #1 to hang out with.

Grace, Zach’s wife is another lucky bitch. She went to New York for an adventure with Nora. Instead, she walks into a shit storm: Nora’s kidnapping. She walks into Kingsley’s home; she sits next to Soren who is tied up and decides to poke the lion. The dynamic between her and Soren was a well-chosen path. I wanted to kick Grace aside and volunteer as a tribute. Lucky Bitch #2.

Griffin, Michael, and Wes waiting to do battle. Three gorgeous “you don’t wanna f*ck with me” men but you really do! Lucky Bitches #3, #4 and #5

There’s punishment—and then there’s vengeance.

Nora Sutherlin is in handcuffs, held captive by two men. . Under different circumstances, she would enjoy the situation immensely, but her captors aren’t interested in play. Or pity.

As the reality of her impending peril unfolds, Nora becomes Scheherazade, buying each hour of her life with stories—sensual tales of Søren, Kingsley and Wesley, each of whom has tempted and tested and tortured her in his own way. This, Nora realizes, is her life: nothing so simple, so vanilla, as a mere love triangle for her. It’s a knot in a silken cord, a tangled mass of longings of the body and the heart and the mind. And it may unravel at any moment.

But in Nora’s world, no one is ever truly powerless—a cadre of her friends, protectors and lovers stands ready to do anything to save her, even when the only certainty seems to be sacrifice and heartbreak…
