Ren and Lucia hit the road together trying to escape her mob father Lucian Marcello. Along the way they encounter many problems and soon find themselves in over their heads as each twist leads to another unexpected turn over the course of weeks.
The writing is great and it delivers enough gangster moments to remind you it is a mafia tale with romance elements. Ren and Lucia are together and its the only thing to keep them going and trying to find a safe haven. Through the streets of Vegas and California, they each encounter horrific circumstances while trying to maintain a sense of normal and family for Diego, Ren’s little brother.
Eventually their past catch up with them. I was glad when it happen. I wanted Ren to stop running as much as Lucia begged him to. He refuse to let his foot off the pedal and in the end it may have cost him more than he bargain for.
The ending leaves you hopeful. I can’t wait to read the outcome. I really hope Lucian finds a place in Lucia life and vice versa. I loved how her father is willing to correct mistakes for the love of his daughter. Because at the moment, Lucia does not want any part of the Marcello family.
