It has the same meticulous prose that made Scandalous epic . However, EPIC can’t possibly describe this story. My skin feels like fire is doing a tap dance on it. You will have orgasmic ripples even before a sex scene is introduce. Holy Guacamole, I had chills even before Indie and Alex breathed the same air in the book.
Its a story encompassing a sexy slow burn, cruelty, love and betrayal. The details are vivid and convincing. The angst is rich, compelling and yes – sexy AF. Don’t get it twisted, it is a story about addiction too. So wading through some parts is like wading through mud….painful and exhausting.
The plot crackles with energy and the writing is snarky and clever. Sexual tension and humor percolates through every chapter. There’s little chance any reader will NOT crave to turn the next page.
Let me issue this disclaimer: I am seriously coming off a Trent/Vicious-bender since Scandalous in November 2017. So, if this review appears a little bias, forgive me because this shit is everything. But seriously, the prologue sold the book. This was a 5 starred review and I had not even read past Chapter Three. It’s that gorgeous.
While some romance authors do twist others do bone-chillers. So, when I say the ending of Midnight Blue knock me out of my perfectly good winter boots, please believe it. I was completely blind-sided. The answers were in the words. But the stubborn love/hate emotional toil within the group carried you into another dimension. I loved the pure elation in the reveal though. You could not predict it. Alex, Indie, Lucas and company take you on an intriguing and unsettling journey.
In closing, the writing and the characters were well written and well-paced. Every character in the story had a true purpose to the storyline. But I cannot divulge anything. Nope, cannot say a word….You’d hate me if I did. I only can say this: Read & Breathe
