The British Knight by Louise Bay
Release Date: December 5th
Genre: Contemporary Romance
When I’m offered the chance to leave New York to live in London for three months, I can’t pack my suitcase fast enough.
As soon as I touch down I’m obsessing over red telephone boxes, palaces and all the black cabs.
But my favorite place is the tube. It’s wall-to-wall hot British men in suits.
When I’m offered a temporary job working for a barrister, I say, sign me up.
On my first commute into work, it’s a total accident when I lose my balance and fall against the most handsome Brit alive. He’s as charming as James Bond and as suave as Mr. Darcy. I want to lick tea from his hard abs and listen to his accent all night long.
Turns out Mr. Handsome is my new boss. And his attitude isn’t as hot as his gorgeous face, broad shoulders and tight ass. He’s brooding, short-tempered and the most arrogant man I’ve ever met.
As we’re fighting, out of nowhere he kisses me. And I’m pretty sure I see fireworks over Big Ben and hear God Save the Queen.
I wasn’t looking for the fairytale but I might have found my knight in shining armor. The problem is he lives an ocean away.
The British Knight is one sexy romance. Each time l learn Bay has a new release, I know it will be sexy, warm hearted and wonderfully written. It’s a story about the collision of two lives and, unexpectedly, two hearts.
Violet relocates to London to take back her life. With the help of her sister Scarlet’s sister-in-law Darcy ( did you get that *wink) she finds employment working at a law firm. At least I think its call a law firm. In the UK they keep referring to Chambers. And this is when you go google and search “Practice Law in the UK” and its many terminologies. Side note: thank you for another look behind the curtain of all things British. It’s always a pleasure to pick up new things.
Of course, Violet being the serial dater, she immediately starts checking out the men London has to offer. Enter Alexander Knightley. It was only suppose to be temporary – passionate, exciting and short-lived.
I love how Violet and Alexander were both professional and hot for each other. I love how Alexander appreciated and acknowledge the smart and sexy Violet in and out of the bedroom. They were equal parts falling in love and having hot sex.
Alexander was a workaholic. He didn’t have time for distractions and Violet’s sudden appearance was a major one. Control was everything with him and he kept this control by working 24/7. No exceptions – until he meets Violet. Suddenly Alex is taking a day off and leaving work at the end of the work day. She manages to upend his world and makes him question what it is he really wants.
