WOW! I just held my breath for 6 hours!

I finished American Queen and the psychedelic trip I experience will remain for some time. I can now breathe again. Oh oh oh, the side effects are staggering. You will find yourself experiencing anxiety, increase heart rate, palpitations and insomnia.  I was up past 4am reading.  But the high was worth the sleepless night.

Sierra Simon’s writing is my illustrious drug of choice. And I am totally addicted.   I remember the cover reveal and thought, what a gorgeous cover! I remember reading the synopsis and thought, oh my this is going to be good. Instead it was even better than imagined. I believe there wasn’t anything that could topple Priest. I was so wrong. The last time I was left with a mood-altering drug induced state was after Priest. Naturally, I replace one hangover with a new hangover from the same dealer.

The more I read, the more my fixation was fueled. The secrets and lies are unveiled piece by piece like a puzzle. Each unveiling was hard to decode. As a reader, you are caught between a dangerous love triangle or maybe a forbidden ménage. You don’t really know.

The sex scenes are downright combustible, provocative, lewd and depraved. And that’s a good thing! But it’s more than just the one-hand read factor, it’s the dominance that President Maxen Ashley Colchester commands in the bedroom. As the most powerful man in the world, that rings very true in the Lincoln Bedroom too.
