Womanizer was a blast to read. Tahoe Roth’s baby sister interning for his best friend Callan Carmichael at Carma ~ what could possibly go wrong? A hot rolling in the sheets sexy romp. Like Tahoe before Gina, Callan is a shameless philander who treats women like playthings to enjoy and discard. Naturally, Tahoe has warned his sister against his best friends including Callan.
I was thrilled to see another member of the Saint’s gang with their own story. There was no need to read the synopsis. However, I did know two things:
1. It was a standalone in the Manwhore Series
2. The dreamy cover alone makes it worthy of an automatic “buy with 1-click”
Katy Evans could have devoted several more chapters on Callan and Livvy and I would have been eager and thrilled to read more. So, cue the bagpipes and turn your song books to Amazing Grace. Womanizer is where we mourn the demise of the “Last Man Standing.” A sizzling tryst with Hot Smoking Guy reveals a wallop of instant attraction worthy of a black eye and a split lip.
Livvy has her life planned with a timeline for career, love and family. Callan has his life plan with no attachments and no relationships. Livvy meet Hot Smoking Guy on the terrace of the Carma building and manages to seduce him. Of course, without knowing Livvy is Tahoe’s sister, he immediately develops an insatiable need to possess her. She develops a smoking habit just to be in his presence. Soon the mystery is solved about each other. Now they are compelled to rendezvous in secret from family, friends and colleagues.
Sleeping with the boss proved to be very productive. Not only did Olivia Roth find the man of her dreams, she found a career working by Callan’s side as his equal. Which goes to prove sleeping your way to the top does have its reward. Did I say that out loud? Oh well, in the world of romance its highly acceptable and encourage by readers like me (wink).
“The only bad thing is that if anyone finds out I’m doing the sexy with you,
they’re all going to think I got ahead because I slept with you,”
I told him one night when we were at my place.
“The important thing is that you’re going to know that they’re right.”
He touched a finger to the tip of my nose.
Well done Ms. Evans. Womanizer packs as much sexiness as Manwhore with Saint. Like Manwhore, I loved every minute of reading this sexy romance. I enjoyed Livvy as a driven woman in business and in her personal life. She manages to seduce one of Chicago’s billionaire bachelors with a simple cigarette. Plus, Callan finds someone he wants enough to chase down to voluntarily trap himself in marriage and family life.
