In Dollars, the highly anticipated second book in the Dollar Series continues the disturbing relationship of Elder and Pim in this bone-chilling story from the beginning to the end.  This review was pushed back to gather my grasp back to reality.   My emotions are frayed.  I had to step away from Dollar$ to regroup from the intensity of the storytelling.    I needed to read something sweet and romantic to keep the anxiety from consuming my happy place. 

This story is a power punch to your core. It leaves you stunned from chapter to chapter.  The writing is quick and sharp. It keeps you on the edge of your seat crawling with terrifying surprises and frightening twists and turns.  It’s a psychological thriller and ranks with the best. As a reader, you will find yourself totally engrossed and afraid for the outcome.  I truly believe I am going to need therapy after reading this series.  I hope I can keep taking this journey with Elder and Pim.  It’s stressful and undeniably a nerve-wracking adventure you can’t put down and forget about.

Pim and Elder face battles threatening to put both their lives on the line.  Despite Elder’s controlling ways, the wealthy millionaire is trying to win the trust, i.e. willingly, of the women he stole and wants.  He has granted her freedom of movement aboard his yacht.  He is desperately trying to break down the walls for Pim to accept his help and gratitude he feels he richly deserves. After all, she owes him.

But when the terrors from her last two years in captivity refuses to accept this gratefulness, he breaks down her fears by forcing her to confront them even if it means sacrificing his own sanity and demons he desperately tries to keep away.  Pim is lost.  Elder is lost.  They are two souls blowing in the wind without a tether to keep them from colliding with each other.   With Pim’s freedom at stake and her future in peril, Elder will stop at nothing to demand the one thing she refuses to give him.  Despite this, Pim defies his ever request and refuses to give in. Their relationship plummets deeper with anger, despair and lustful desire. It’s a cat and mouse game between the two. Will he let her go for his own self-preservation? Or can Pim accept the reality and fact she may really want to stay?
