Synopsis: His Cinderella isn’t looking for a fairy tale…

Alicia Forkes went to a trendy club looking for a way to forget her troubles, and she found that in the arms of the gorgeous man who swept her off of her feet…and into one of the hottest encounters she’d ever had in her life. Awesome sex with a stranger is now something she can check off her bucket list.

Except he isn’t exactly a stranger. He’s the guy who broke her heart when they were teens, an experience she doesn’t plan on repeating.

Prince Leo can’t believe he’s finally found the woman he’s loved for years, and she wants nothing to do with him. When she shows up at his office, she looks anything but princess-like. In fact, she’s cursing him to hell and back. She may not be Cinderella, but he’s determined to prove he’s the prince for her––even if it means letting her go.

3.5 KINK Review

The Prince’s Bride is the second standalone book in the Modern Fairytales series by Diane Alberts.  The story may be more anti-Cinderella considering Alicia Forkes spends most of her time disliking Leo aka Prince Leopold William George Worthington of Randovia.   In that regards it’s not your true “I found my Prince Charming.”

The concept is very familiar and will pull you in.  A young lady from the US falling in love with a Prince and living happily ever after.   However, the actions between Alicia and Leo are not rekindle love moments.  He misses her; he still remembers her. However, Alicia can’t forget the lovely teenage boy who left her stranded at the airport.

We are left with a familiar story however Leo has to fight his way each day trying to win back the love of Alicia.  The glamour of life as a royal will keep the reader enthralled.  There are mishaps and secrets unveiled to add details to the angst.

The Prince’s Bride is a sweet romance with spicy scenes.  I’m not a fan of second chance romance because I like to read about the immediate attractions between the characters.  Diehard fans of Royalty Romance will be drawn to the plot.  Prince Leo and Alicia are more like frenemies to lovers with just enough angst to keep the story moving forward.

In closing, I leave my review as a 3.5 KINK review.  It a very good read and I love the genre.  In the end, Alicia’s wish comes true; she rekindles her teenager love affair and gets her HEA.
