The daredevil skydiver makes her feel alive and gives her a sense of direction that she so desperately craves. But can their fledging relationship survive Andi’s personal demons and Levi’s meddling father, who refuses to his son go?

Book Review

Prepare yourself for a very emotional and ugly cry. It’s filled with adrenaline, excitement and passion.

“When we jump, as I mentioned, Phil will go first with his client and we will go last. Because you will be harnessed onto the front of me, you will have to be sitting right here on the edge on the plane with your legs hanging over the side ……When we fall, I will need you to put your head back on my shoulder and lift your feet up behind me. We are going to flip backwards away from the plane and I will need you to stay like that until I tap you on the shoulder. Then you can extend your arms and legs.”

Andi and Levi have a strong physical attraction with each other the minute they met. This attraction set the stage for a “friends with benefits” relationship. Like falling from an airplane, Levi begins to experience a heart racing desire to be more and wants Andi to take the dive with him.

Andi has been living a life almost checked out. She builds up enough self-confidence to take the plunge and trust the parachute, i.e. Levi will not break her heart and protect her until her feet hits the ground.  Once she decided to participate in her happiness she fell in love. In theory, Andi took a leap from the plane fill with orgasmic nights and landed on her feet with THE ONE.

Just like Levi tapped her shoulder, they threw themselves into the relationship with joy.  Each of them are flying on a cloud of happiness.  Like the jump, once they started they had no control over falling in love.

With the interference of Andi’s overprotective brothers; the antics of Levi’s father, her leap of faith becomes problematic with drastic consequences.  She is left with a broken heart even the best ice cream could not curb.

Levi’s love is the equivalent of flying. Like soaring through the clouds; having a great day for a jump, he makes a deal with the devil himself, his father, to ensure his happiness and Andi’s safety.

I am an emotional reader so I don’t like spoilers, no matter how cryptic they may be.  To fully enjoy the story, skip the prologue.  It leaves you waiting for “it” or “something” to happen.  You are flipping the pages waiting for the next possibility.  I like suspense without the introduction of suspense. I want to be hit in the gut unexpectedly and administer first aid afterwards.

The prologue removes that aspect and it’s the reason why I give it a 4 kink review.  ** I was gifted a copy by author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Joanne is a lover of books and the written word. It had been a life long dream of Joanne’s to write and publish a novel. A dream that she finally fulfilled in early 2014 after writing YA Paranormal Romance Illuminated Darkness for close to three years. In 2015, her NA Romance ‘Freefall’ was signed by Evernight Publishing.

Joanne grew up in sunny Queensland in Australia and currently resides on the Sunshine Coast with her husband and two sons. She has always had a passion for writing and is a former radio announcer and journalist. Currently she works in her other passion- teaching children the vital life saving skill of learning to swim. In her spare time she likes to drink coffee with her friends and train and compete in triathlons (very badly).

Joanne is currently writing a sequel to Freefall, and a YA Contemporary novel that may or may not take another three years to write. She also has plans to write a sequel to Illuminated Darkness, that will be titled Darkness Enveloped.
